During this project, I exclusively used Illustrator to create a unique restaurant menu. When making this, I learned many skills such as how to use the Mesh and Gradient tools to create more realistic objects in Illustrator. Midway through this project, I had the idea of making it into the "World's Worst Menu". I had a lot of fun doing this by adding spilled beans and silly menu items. When creating the menu, I had a few problems such as color choice for the food items and consistency with the fonts I used.

When I created this project, I used my basic knowledge of shapes in Illustrator to make recognizable images from an all time classic film: Daddy's home 2. When creating this project I had to make difficult choices like choosing the most easily recognizable symbols from the movie and I mostly decided to go with symbols that followed the plot: Christmas in a ski resort. It was especially hard choosing only 2 colors that I could use for every symbol but I am happy with my choice because it gives the art more of Christmas feel. I feel this artwork represents me with its subject matter. This project was very unique because I had to work with 2 different pieces of software to create it: PS and 3DS Max. For this artwork, I used UVW unwrap editor in 3DS Max to make the surface of my tank into a paintable flat surface in PS. When I was making this, I was mainly inspired to make it look old and rusty because I liked the aesthetic. I faced many challenges in the creation of "old ahh tank" including working with the complicated UVW menus in 3DS Max and also having to figure out where to put images in PS so they would show up where I wanted in 3D.
I loved this project because it allowed me to basically PS together whatever I wanted and being a big fan of the Godzilla films, I immediately knew exactly what I wanted to do. I am very proud of this because it was my first time really trying to edit together a cohesive image using more than two images. During the creation of this project, I familiarized myself with some fundamental PS tools such as adjustment layers and filters. Overall I thought this project was a great intro to creating scenes.
I chose to display this piece because I'm am not much of a pencil on paper kind of artist and I know it kind of looks like an 8 year old thought of it but I am proud of how my drawing came out. I think the trench coat came out very well and I think the color palette I chose was just great. To complete this project, I followed a tutorial on how to draw a 3d character and I adapted it to my robot. In the process of creating Robotrooper, learned a lot about character design and I really liked being able to give my character some more personality through the use of color. I posted this on my student showcase page because it took me a lot of time to finish coloring in all 3 Zeldas. I am proud that I undertook the challenge of drawing this complex character. In the process of making the charter I learned a lot about about color schemes such as monochromatic, analogous, complementary, etc. I am honestly very happy with all 3 designs and my favorite of the 3 seems to change on the daily. This project was especially fun because I got to choose my subject. The Legend of Zelda is one of my favorite franchises ever and I really enjoyed being able to create my own fan versions of her appearance simply by remixing her colors. |
